A BROKEN FRIENDSHIP RESTORED
Theresa had sent her son to live with her friend LaTonya. LaTonya lived in an area with fewer gangs and less violence. But their relationship had fallen apart when they came to mediation. LaTonya was seeking a stalking/no-contact order against Theresa for allegedly threatening to kill her.
The issue was even more complex. Both women were deaf, with mutual friends and connections in the deaf community. Mediation gave the women space to have a meaningful conversation. They expressed their feelings and were able to repair their friendship.
